I don't speak catalan but I understand it and when I complained to a station officer in the metro, he called his chief who tried to speak English but the other guy interrumpted him saying in Catalan that I could "more or less understand Castillan". I was... ok, I need to improve my knowledge in Spanish... Well, I don't why he said that because I clearly understood everything he told me XD
Now, be careful if you happen to go by the entrance near the information point on Plaça de Espanya XD
